Idea from me:
Don’t pay any attention to the stories about the, “youngest _____ (published author, successful actor, etc.) in the world!” The media loves to shove these in our face as inspirational. This, however, does not do anything except make us wonder if we’re too old, if it’s too late, and also how did that toddler write a novel?!
Instead, focus on the later-in-life successes. The grandmother who started a YouTube cooking show, the artists who you love who didn’t get acclaim until their later years, etc. Inspiration is key - but only when it makes us feel hopeful as well.
Quote from another:
Economist John Maynard Keynes on new and old ideas:
"The difficulty lies not so much in developing new ideas as in escaping from old ones."
Prompt for you:
What is an old idea that is holding you back from creating what you want to create?
